Bond Elut SCX is a strong cation exchanger with extremely low pKa. Although its pKa is similar to Bond Elut PRS, the presence of a benzene ring in its functional group increases the possibility of non-polar interactions. When ion exchange occurs in aqueous systems, this non-polar interaction becomes particularly important, with selectivity for cations and non-polar compounds.
